Training for Growth

At the core of our mission, the Tala Table Network provided these farmers with extensive training under its nurturing wing. These sessions weren’t just about farming; they delved into the intertwined realms of networking, production, business acumen, consumer education, and exploration of market options.

Accomplishments that Speak Volumes

Our efforts have borne fruit, quite literally. The farmers of Tala Table Network have been proudly registered with PGS-SA and have received certifications that stand as a testament to their commitment and skill. Out of the 30 trained, 15 have been accredited, and our innovation in farming was recognized when we won the AFASA Competition 2020 for the Best Southern African Farming Innovation. Beyond accolades, we’ve established a market and developed labels that embody our identity.

Empowering Local Prosperity

The Tala Table Network isn’t just about organic farming; it’s a pledge to promote local indigenous products, produce, and trees, nurturing an economy that can sustain itself and thrive for future generations.

Beyond Harvest: Value Addition

We recognize the challenges farmers face with excess harvest. To address this, we advocate for product processing and value addition, providing training to transform surplus into opportunity, preventing waste, and encouraging economic resilience.

Agro-Ecology: Harmony with Nature

Agro-Ecology is at the heart of our practice. It’s an approach that champions farming with nature, utilizing the strengths of the local environment to enhance and sustain crop production. It aims to reduce reliance on harmful inputs, thereby benefitting both the farmer and the earth.

Wisdom Through Collaboration

Our history is rich with knowledge, especially among small-scale farmers in the global South who minimize costs by harnessing traditional farming systems. Farmer-to-Farmer teaching and partnerships among rural social movements are vital components of our collaborative spirit.

Support from the Heart

Our endeavors are uplifted by the generous support of the Dreikönigsaktion, which not only coordinates charitable campaigns but also aligns with our vision of strengthening food security, human rights, and local economies in impoverished regions. We stand united in the belief that diversity in agriculture is key to a balanced diet and a sustainable future.

AWARD: Architects of Resilience

AWARD, our non-profit partner, is a beacon of research-based, participatory project implementation. With a focus on building resilience through collective action, AWARD’s systemic, social-learning approaches are invaluable in our shared pursuit of a more equitable and sustainable world.
